The Refinery Process Technician will be fully cross-trained in the following areas: Utility and Waste Water Operation, Chemical Refining, Bleaching, Dewaxing, Deodorization, Load, and Unload duties and will be expected to maintain training in all listed areas.



The Refinery Process Technician is responsible for coordinating with the Field Process Technician and working where most needed. The Flex Process Technician will be responsible for managing permits, maintenance tasks, lockouts, and other duties as directed. As well, it would also be expected to provide coverage for the Refinery Process Technician and Field Process Technician as specified by the vacation coverage policy. The role will be subject to working under varying temperature extremes, some physical labor, working at heights, handling of chemicals, and working around a variety of continuous process equipment.



In addition to these areas, the Refinery Process Technician will have an opportunity to participate in many different tasks and projects.



**Principal Accountabilities:**



Assist with trials and projects

Troubleshooting and maintenance of process equipment and instrumentation.

Procedures, policies and practices adherence and development.

Permit completion and coordination.

Assist in assuring efficiency of operation of equipment, quality of product, and safety of all personnel.

Monitoring and controlling the various unit operations via the process control system.

Performing quality checks on waste water treatment plant and utility unit operations.

Performing verification and validation tasks associated with on-line instruments and control systems

Performing a variety of preventive/planned basic maintenance tasks on plant systems and equipment. Also being directly involved with improvement of these systems and the equipment.

Troubleshooting and hazard recognition real-time as operational deviations occur.

Being responsible for the safety, food safety, sanitation, and hygiene conditions as a member of an area team, including necessary clean up and proper handling of the product and production equipment.

Checking out of trucks and rails

Assisting with load/unload activities as directed

Performing additional tasks as directed



**Required:**



Right to work in the U.S. that is not based solely on possession of a student visa or a visa sponsored by a third-party employer.

Cargill requires employees be a minimum of 18 years old to work in a production facility.

Must be able to perform physical job duties including bending/stooping, climbing ladders, open/close valves, shoveling, pounding with hammer and work in confined spaces.

Ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds.

Must be able to work in varied indoor and outdoor conditions with the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), which may include heat, cold, dust, loud noise, etc.

Ability to work in elevated areas (4 feet and above)

Must be able to operate machinery.

Ability to understand and communicate in English (verbal/written).

High School diploma or Equivalent.

Basic use of a computer

Ability to work overtime, weekends and holidays with advance notice



**Preferred:**



Able to perform physical job duties work in confined spaces.

Prior experience in production related work.

Able to operate heavy equipment.

Forklift certified
