**Description**



**Position Purpose and Summary**



Cargill is developing an ambitious Trading strategy that aims to transform the way Cargill operates across enterprises and functions over the coming years\.



This strategy looks at key aspects of our trading activities and the scale of the transformation will require building out new enterprise\-level quantitative, electronic, and algorithmic trading capabilities\. To enact this build\-out, a team will need to be recruited and managed to turn this vision into a live working product; and technology solutions will need to be designed and implemented\.



The role of Quantitative Trading Technology Lead will identify, architect and implement technology solutions to allow Cargill to achieve its vision of transforming Quantitative Trading and Execution\. This position will be responsible to work with the Quantitative Trading Execution Lead to manage technology projects and individuals within the Quantitative Trading Execution team, driving actions and tracking concrete metrics to measure results and meet timelines\.



**Principal Accountabilities**



**95% Trading Execution Platform**



Architect systems and make design decisions for Cargill?s electronic trading platform

Actively manage development team to build out the trading platform

Serve as primary software architect to create highly automated trading, electronic and algorithmic platform

Work with division lead to help set timelines and allocate resources to execute the vision of the group

Interface with other groups within Cargill to coordinate integration of trading platform into other areas of the firm

Assist in recruiting development team members

Report on progress and delays in the project



**5% Trading Technology**



Identity new technologies being used in the electronic, quantitative and algorithmic trading businesses

Research and identify technologies and projects being used by competitors and have awareness of threats and/or opportunities from competitors

Analyze feasibility of integrating new technologies into electronic trading platform



**Qualifications**



**Required Qualifications**



B\.S\. or B\.A\. or equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics or Physics

10 years of software development experience

10 years of working in financial firms in trading and/or risk management roles

Experience with designing and architecting low\-latency electronic and automated trading systems

Experience with designing and architecting High\-Frequency\-Trading \(HFT\) systems and capabilities

Experience with latency minimization within electronic and automated trading systems

Experience with High\-Performance\-Computing \(HPC\) hardware and software including work with Apache Spark, Apache Mesos, CUDA/C for GPUs, Kubernetes

Experience working with and designing low\-latency and high throughput messaging frameworks

Experience working with cloud based services such as AWS or Azure

Experience with C , C\#, \.NET, Python, SQL

Experience managing team of developers

Strong understanding of automated and algorithmic trading

Demonstrated ability on execution of complex projects

Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
