**Research and Development Laboratory Technician**

The Laboratory Technician will be responsible for routine analytical and laboratory testing for research and development of specific materials in an enterprise of Cargill\. The position will run basic macro analyses utilizing methods that are dependent upon the material or nutrient\. We are looking for someone who will be responsible for conducting testing?s as well as detailing and communicating results into databases \(verbally and/or in writing\)\. You are also going to interpret complex issues and problems and refers only the most complex issues to higher\-level staff\. At Cargill, everyone matters and everyone counts\. **Key Accountabilities**



Execute a variety of laboratory sample analyses using Near\-Infrared \(NIR\), gravimetric, enzymatic, colorimetric, and other methods to evaluate available nutrients within specific materials\.



Collects and enters data into databases and communicates results verbally or in writing as required\.



Keeps laboratory supplies ready by inventorying stock, placing orders, and verifying receipt\.



Perform instrument maintenance and troubleshooting\.



Support and align with corporate/local safety and food safety policies and procedures\.



Implement existing quality control metrics and standards\.



Other duties as assigned\.



**Qualifications**



**Required**



High School diploma or GED equivalent and minimum 4 years of directly related work experience\.

Proficient in Microsoft Office

The role may require lifting up to 50 lbs\., standing for an extended time, sitting for long periods of time, etc\.

This position may require working in utmost temperatures, exposure to the elements, etc\.



**Preferred**



Bench chemistry or wet chemistry experience

HPLC, UHPLC, ICP experience

Work experience in a commercial laboratory or food/feed laboratory

Colorimetric, Enzymatic, ELISA methodology experience"

Also as a part of this role, it may be required proficiency in specific skills \(e\.g\. JAVA, Excel, Regression analysis, etc\. tied to position\)\.
