**Job Purpose and Impact**

The Regional Food Safety Lead is responsible for the consistency of Food, Safety, Quality and Regulatory policies and standards across facilities within a business region\. You will be responsible for the continuous improvement of food safety processes and systems, implementing policies within the business, ensuring and auditing compliance, and customer specifications and quality issues\. At this level, work is performed under minimal supervision and the role is expected to independently balance complex issues\.

**Key Accountabilities**

* Performs prevention activities and issue resolution across multiple facilities in a region to ensure consistency and collaboration\.

* Directs work with suppliers/external manufacturers\.

* Accountable for completion of facility audits and proactively anticipates risks and preventative


* Develop, implement and assess food safety processes and systems for facilities and drives continuous improvements\.

* Conducts root cause analysis for defects, non\-conformities, or other quality failures\.

* Ensures compliance with formal external and internal quality standards\.

* ?Provides leadership, coaching, and/or mentoring to a subordinate group\.

* Other duties as assigned


**Minimum Qualifications**

**This position has the ability to work from a remote home\-office location\.**

* Bachelor?s Degree in a related field OR equivalent experience

* Minimum 4 years directly related work experience

* Knowledge of food safety concepts, policies, hazard analysis and risk mitigation\.

* Ability to travel up to 25%

**Preferred Qualifications**

* Operations experience

* Understanding of statistical process control programs

* Applies intermediate auditing and quality compliance skills to identify and manage risks/compliance

* Animal nutrition food safety and quality experience

* Experience interacting with state and federal regulators\.
