**Electrician / Instrument Technician**

**This Full time position is located in Hersey, Michigan; however please expect receiving calls from a 952 area code in case you are considered\. Relocation assistance is not provided\.**

This role is responsible for installing, maintaining, testing, evaluating and repairs for electrical systems for salt manufacturing and/or packaging facilities\.

**Must pass an electrical aptitude test and field test\.**

**Principal Accountabiblities:**

Perform housekeeping, parts procurement and project work as assigned by supervisor\.

Install, maintain, test, evaluation and repair, including predictive and preventative maintenance technologies on, power distributions systems, motor control systems, automation systems, PLCs, frequency drives and communication\.

Basic ?household? electrical maintenance and repair \(lighting fixtures, alarm systems\) report problems with the food safety\. management system to identified person\(s\)\.

Read and write electrical schematics and ladder logic diagrams\.

Installing/maintaining heavy industrial equipment from 24 volts to 13,800 volts, motor controllers, medium voltage switchgears, motors, starters control circuits and PLCs\.

This position has the responsibility and authority to initiate and record actions\. Acquire and maintain knowledge of HACCP/OPRP/PRP \(GMP\) policies and requirements to complete all monitoring and/or verifications tasks as outlined by the Food Safety Management\.



Must be able to perform physical job duties including bending/stooping, climbing ladders, open/close valves, shoveling, pounding with hammer and work in confined spaces\.

Ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds\.

Must be able to work under special work conditions, such as extreme heat or cold\.

Ability to work in elevated areas\.

Must be able to operate machinery\.

Must be able to operate heavy equipment\.

Must be able to read/write English\.

High School diploma or Equivalent\.

Basic computer skills\.

Ability to work overtime\.

Ability to work holidays, nights, weekends or different shifts\.

At least 1 years of experience in production related work\.

Experience and compliant with NFP 70E\.

Experience in installing/maintaining heavy industrial equipment from 24 volts to 13,800 volts, motor controllers, medium voltage switchgears, motors, starters control circuits and PLCs\.

Must be able to perform maintenance trades including Electrical and mechanical maintenance\.


Forklift certified\.

Journeyman certification as an electrician is a plus\.

State of Michigan Journeyman?s Electrical License \.
