**Assistant Business Manager**

**Position Purpose and Summary\.**

The purpose of this role is to increase volume and profitability of the retail value added business\. This role encompasses fresh value\-added raw meats \(beef, pork, chicken, turkey\) that are partially prepped for consumer use\. It evaluates market and consumer insights to align with production capabilities to determine how we can grow our customers? business\.

**Principal Accountabilities**

35%Channel Strategy and Portfolio Management \(including Pricing Execution\)

Understand and support response to customer needs and market dynamics to drive demand and grow the business through the overall strategy

Develop business cases for assigned segments of the business and projects / initiatives prioritized by the Business Lead and Business Managers, driving progress across Sales, Marketing and Innovation, Pricing, Operations and Supply Chain

Support retail portfolio optimization

Provide recommendations on adjustments to price strategies

Communicate goals for Sales to execute

25%SandOP and Supply Chain Coordination

Support Business Lead and Managers presence at key SandOP meetings and in collecting input for Demand Planning

- Product Portfolio Review: Support understanding of the pros and cons of portfolio decisions and how changes impact Cargill as a whole

- Demand Review: Enable understanding of the unconstrained demand profiles of ?assigned? parts of the product portfolio, taking into consideration previous sales, sales team info, and marketing info

- Operation Review: Engage in the review of operating vs\. financial plan to assess progress vs\. budget

20%Cross\-Channel Coordination

Connect with Customer Management teams, Product Leads, Marketing, RandD, and Pricing to drive business cases and product commercialization

Coordinate with Business Leads and Business Managers across channels to drive a holistic perspective in building channel\-specific business cases

Manage projects to completion

20% Pricing Strategy and Sales Coordination

Working with the Pricing Strategy Team to Develop short and long term strategy for products

Working with Sales to develop account plans using principles of Strategic Pricing\.


**Required Qualifications**

Bachelor?s Degree

Minimum 5\-6 years? experience project management OR commercialization/profitability of products\.

Strong analytical and problem\-solving skills\.

Strategic thinking and ability to operate in ambiguity\.

Ability to manage multiple work streams and stakeholders while keeping things organized\.

Ability to communicate clearly and thoroughly with multiple groups\.

Good at building rapport with others and demonstrated strong ability to execute on commitments to others\.

Ability to effectively manage business tensions while working towards optimal solution\.

Ability to work through SandOP Process \(Pricing, Ops, Supply Chain, Finance\) to position product in optimal profitability position\.

Ability to communicate value and use Strategic Pricing Principles to manage long term pricing strategy\.

**Preferred Qualifications**

5 years' experience in the protein industry

PandL Experience

Sales/Pricing Experience\.

Project Management skills\.

Strong understanding of Beef Markets, Value added offerings, packaging formats, and overall retail customer base\.
