**Trading, Margin and Risk Management Leader**

**Description**



This position is accountable for managing the margins of the current cocoa \(liquor\) in North America as well as the flows from Cargill? global cocoa asset network to the North American market and customers\. In addition, this position is accountable for trading and risk management in Cocoa and Chocolate North America \(CCNA\), both for non\- cocoa ingredients and for the cocoa ingredients the latter in alignment with the global cocoa game plans\. As such the Trading, Margin and Risk Management leader will play a key role in generating value and in CCNA and managing identified risks by providing oversight and direction for most complex merchandising, pricing and trading activities\.



**Principal Accountabilities**



**60% Trading and Risk Management**



**Strategy / Execution Leadership and Oversight**



Contributes to long term growth strategy for Cocoa and Chocolate business in NA and the Journey to Joy global CCC strategy\.

Set clear targets to the team members in trading and merchandising,

Oversees implementation of business strategies for Trading and Risk Management

Partners with Global Senior Trading/ Merchandising team members in defining the long\-term vision and strategic direction including

Provides management oversight and support to successfully execute long\-term Trading and Merchandising strategies

Liaises with the global cocoa sourcing and trading team\.

Partners with embedded Risk Management professionals in monitoring and controlling the team?s risk limits, which are set by the CRC \(Cargill Risk Committee\) for the CCC group and regional and governed by RMG \(Risk Management Group\)

Provides leadership to Trading and Risk Management Team to build critical capabilities within those teams\.

**Risk Management**



Oversees and reviews team?s risk positions

Sources Raw materials, management of risk position and trading budget

Accountable for trading and sourcing PandL

Using broad knowledge , oversees and reviews the trading and hedging strategies for team by ensuring risk management limits are kept within the business guidelines for exposure



**Analysis / Reporting / Data Management**



Oversees and reviews market, positions and PandL reports created by team members

Responsible for Team?s success in meeting profit and volume targets via flat price, spreads and cash trading

Manages Team collaboration with the accounting and finance departments to determine monthly contract and inventory valuations in reference to the short\-long term strategies

Provides direction to the short\-long term game plans basis origination or livestock procurement analysis and margin reviews\.

Monitors daily/weekly/monthly merchandising profitability estimates\.



**40% Margin Management for Cocoa**



**Cocoa PLM Organization management:**



Make sure there is a cocoa leg to the monthly iBP cycle that drives the execution of the Long\-term strategy in line with Business and Group strategy and monitor execution of the iBP plan\.

Ensure the CCNA iBP cycle links up to the global Cocoa iBP cycle\.

Set clear targets for the Cocoa PLM team aligned with the business and group plans and strategy

Accountable for deploying PLM tools such as strategic pricing, margin grid and accountable for long term product line strategy

Monitor the strategic pricing process and give leadership to the team\.

Responsible for creating a feedback loop between customers, assets and competitor analysis to strengthen Cargill position as a market leader

Discuss and align the commercial strategy with sales and marketing director

Provides through the team commercial guidance to capacity planning and optimization

Drives budgeting process and execution of budget

Provide leadership to the Cocoa Product Line Managers to build critical capabilities\.

Build a high\-performance team

Member of the divisional core management team



**Qualifications**



**Required**



University degree and good overall knowledge of total business process

9 years of experience in Risk Management and Trading, FPandA or equivalent in a financial, energy, agricultural or commodity trading environment

Solid experience in Merchandising and Trading

Broad economic view and conceptual strengths

Deep and practical business acumen, in particular affinity with CCC strategic value creators of sensory, security and sustainability

In\-depth knowledge in Risk management, Merchandising and Trading domains

Experience in managing margins in a complex asset environment\.

Have proven ability to operate in a complex trading environment and manage conflicting demands

Commercial minded with a keen understanding of how their business experiences profit and loss

Comfortable providing and defending analysis where there is ambiguity

Solid experience leading and developing teams and hold self and them accountable

Develop and leverage deep customer knowledge and insights

Passion to learn more than taught
