**Description**



**This full time position is located in Watkins Glen, NY; however please expect receiving calls from a 952 number in case you are considered\. Relocation assistance is not provided\.**



Position Purpose:



This role is responsible for maintaining, repairing and performing preventative and predictive maintenance on equipment for a salt manufacturing and packaging facility\.



Principal Accountabilities:



Maintain, repair, and perform Preventative Maintenance \(PM\) and Predictive Maintenance \(PdM\) rounds on processing and packing equipment such as baggers, palletizers, stretch wrappers, screw conveyors, and bucket elevators and/or production equipment such as tractors, pickups, heavy mobile equipment, conveyors, pumps, piping systems, and mixers

Maintain, repair, and perform PM and PdM rounds on all production equipment such as pumps, fans, boilers, centrifuges, piping/valve systems, mobile equipment, etc\.

Learn and utilize precision maintenance craft skills

Welding skills including stick and MIG welding of carbon and stainless steel and basic fabrication

Set rigging



Secondary Accountabilities include:



Read blue prints, understand task symbols, and read operation manuals

Assist with inventory and parts as needed

Troubleshoot electrical controls

PdM skills will be learned and utilized as needed including lubrication, ultrasonic infrared, and vibration



Other Qualifications:



Two years of experience as a machinist, maintenance mechanic, and/or millwright

Experience with electric motors, pumps, water systems, and other similar equipment and systems

Demonstrated positive attitude toward/interest in safety and safe work rules

Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot mechanical systems and implement effective solutions

Technical degree or equivalent, in a maintenance related field

Experience as a mechanic in an industrial/manufacturing setting

Experience with predictive maintenance technologies

Ability to distinguish between proactive and reactive maintenance

Maintenance experience with material handling equipment \(i\.e\. conveyors, screens, etc\.\)

Maintenance experience with agriculture and construction mobile equipment

Automotive maintenance experience

Demonstrated knowledge of the principles of mechanical equipment design and fabrication



**Qualifications**



**Requirements:**



Right to work in the U\.S\. that is not based solely on possession of a student visa or a visa sponsored by a third\-party employer\.

Cargill requires employees be a minimum of 18 years old to work in a production facility\.

High School diploma or Equivalent

Must be able to read/write English

Basic computer skills

Must be able to perform physical job duties including bending/stooping, climbing ladders, open/close valves\.

Ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds

Must be able to work under special work conditions, such as extreme heat or cold\.

Ability to work in elevated areas

Ability to work overtime, holidays, nights, weekends or different shifts

At least 2 years of experience in production related work



**Preferred:**



Able to perform physical job duties including shoveling, pounding with hammer and work in confined spaces

Able to operate machinery

Able to operate heavy equipment

Forklift certified

Able to perform maintenance trades including electrical, machinist, welding, pipe fitting, and fabrication, rigging systems, gearbox and bearing maintenance, lubrication, pumps and piping systems, mechanical maintenance and hydraulic and pneumatic systems\.

Previous experience with MRO \(Maintenance Repair Ops\) and/or MRP \(Material Requirement Planning\)
