**Export Trade Compliance Operations Specialist**

Responsible for performing moderate to low complexity trade compliance operations activities and executing routine tasks and procedures\. This role requires collaboration across business units, problem solving skills and ability to drive continuous improvement\.

**Principal Accountabilities**


Execute export compliance operations activities within limited supervision following department procedures and controls\.

Execute the GTOC \(Global Trade Operations and Compliance\) goals for value preservation and risk mitigation within their single location team\.

Validate and coordinate export transactional requirements\.

Apply a limited technical understanding of export compliance operations practices and procedures to ensure execution of export compliance operations transactions\.

With limited supervision, reviews or prepares documents \(e\.g\. customs invoices, preferential trade documentation, other applicable customs documentation, etc\.\), ensuring they meet legal and fiscal requirements, using a basic knowledge of global trade compliance operations practices and procedures\.

Support cross border logistics and transportation \(to maintain efficiencies and for conflict resolution for export transactions\)

Support and monitor cargo in transit to ensure timely shipping schedule, border crossing and compliance with local and overseas customs and Other Government Agencies authorities\. Ensure efficiencies and compliance with free time demurrage by submitting export filings and all required export documents according to established timelines\.

Using defined procedures, prepares and submits, with limited supervision, export self\-filings, and / or submits instructions to customer designated agents when applicable\.

With limited supervision, resolves holds, notifications and compliance alerts triggered by export declarations \(Customs and OGA/PGA\)\.


Process data entry activities to facilitate cross border execution and data analysis\.

With limited supervision, may report simple metrics\.

Collect, organize and report required data sets of a single\-site or process area\.

Maintain records and complies with records retention policy\.

Update customs master files and supports compliance with Records and Information Management policies and controls\.

Compile data or reports for internal and external audit purposes\.


Support the business and the global compliance operations efforts and executes in alignment of enterprise, business and functional goals\.

Collaborate cross\-functionally, internally and externally to implement trade compliance operations solutions\.



High School degree and 2 years of experience in a related field, including Customs, Import/Export execution, freight forwarding

Demonstrated client/customer focus role and strong relationship builder

Proficient in Microsoft outlook and office, expertise in Microsoft Excel

Incoterms and International Trade knowledge

Strong written and verbal communication skills

Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple tasks simultaneously

Excellent time management, prioritization and organization skills

Proven experience on how to get things done within a matrix organization

Ability to work overtime when required

Ability to travel up to 5%


AA Degree or Export Specialist Certification

Bilingual English/Spanish

3 years of experience in a related role

Financial acumen, strong analytical skills

Familiarity with customs and Other Government Agencies \(FDA, APHIS, EPA etc\.\) regulations
