**Description**



**Position Purpose:**



Cargill Salt is currently looking for a Production Supervisor at our Lansing Mine\. The Production Supervisor will provide technical knowledge, operations experience and management skill at a first line supervisory level in the daily direction and efficient performance of production related activities/functions in the attainment of short and long\-term facility goals on all shifts\. The position is responsible for the general operations of the surface facilities\.



This position is accountable for leading a team of 6\-10 employees\. This position requires collaboration with other department supervisors, maintenance, quality, supply chain, customer service, and production team members to achieve goals\. The Production Supervisor must be flexible to the changing needs of the mining operation which include the ability to work 1st, 2nd, and/or 3rd shift



**Principal Accountabilities:**



**50%** Operational Leadership: Hold self and others accountable to ensure effective and efficient operations with a culture of continuous improvement\. Organize, plan, lead, and control daily production



**30%** Safety: Champion safety processes, ergonomic efforts and creating an environment where all team members hold each other accountable for keeping their co\-workers safe\. Actively work to prevent/eliminate hazards that cause injury or illness\.

**Qualifications**



**Minimum Required Qualifications:**





* High school diploma or equivalent





* At least two years of related experience





* Must be able to work flexible hours, including weekend work as assigned\.



**Preferred Qualifications:**





* 2\-4\-year college degree OR 3\-5 years of related experience





* Mechanical aptitude demonstrated in previous roles





* Experience in a manufacturing/production environment





* Knowledge of federal mining laws \(MSHA\)





* Previous experience with computerized timekeeping system \(such as Kronos\)





* Demonstrate strong safety background\.





* Experience with SAP





* Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office \(Word, Excel and PowerPoint\)\.





* Effective interpersonal communication skills, both verbal and written and maintain a positive attitude\.
